Affordable Granite Benchtops started with a simple idea: good quality stonework shouldn't have to be stressful or unaffordable.

For Andrew, stonework wasn't something he planned from the beginning. Growing up in Kapiti and attending Kapiti College, he found himself working in the industry after being given an opportunity by the previous owner of the business. He enjoyed it from day one — and what started as a job quickly became something he genuinely loved.

Nikora's path into the industry was different, but led to the same place. Growing up around practical, hands-on work, he eventually found his way into stone through family connections. What was initially expected to be temporary turned into a career he really enjoyed — from measuring and fabricating through to installation and seeing a project come together from start to finish.

​

When the opportunity came to take over Affordable Granite, they saw the chance to build something of their own — bringing together everything they had learned from working in the Wellington stone industry and creating a business with a fresh perspective.

​

Today, Affordable Granite specialises in the fabrication and installation of customised natural and engineered stone benchtops for kitchens, bathrooms, vanities and more. Every project is different, and that's part of what they love about the work.

For Andrew and Nikora, the work isn't simply about cutting and installing stone.  It's about getting the details right.  It's about being involved throughout the process, solving problems when they arise, communicating clearly and making sure the finished product is something they would be proud to have in their own homes. Quality workmanship is something they refuse to compromise on.  Most importantly, they want customers to feel at ease.
